A Safe Place
A shelter for abused woman and their children. The mission of the non-profit organization Strathcona Shelter Society Ltd. is: “To end domestic abuse and violence in the lives of women and their children by supporting the shelter, A Safe Place, and impacting public policy through education and awareness”.
A Safe Place required a website that would provide extensive information and resources about abuse and the shelter itself. It was critical that the website was simple to navigate and presented in such a way that all visitors, regardless of Internet experience, could easily use it.
Our solution was to develop a site that used a streamlined interface and a intuitive navigation menu, combined with category breadcrumb links. In order to keep page load times to a minimum - graphics and photos were only used when necessary.
